Darren Griffin

Darren Griffin is a Professor of Genetics at the University of Kent, where he has been a key figure for over 15 years. He is a world leader in cytogenetics and has made significant contributions to the field, including the development of Karyomapping and the first successful cytogenetic PGD. His research spans the cytogenetics of reproduction and evolution, with a particular focus on the genetics of early human development and chromosome evolution. Griffin is also a prolific science communicator and has supervised over 35 PhD students to completion. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, the Royal Society of Biology, and the Royal Society of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce.
